December favorites

Now it's time for my more or less monthly favorites! Since it's December, my favorites are somewhat related to holiday season.

My December favorites

1. New pajama pants
My grandma buys me new pair of pajama pants for every Christmas and this year they just happened to be amazing! They are so comfy that I started to wonder would anyone notice if I went to school wearing them.

2. Chocolate
In my opinion December should be called either ''The Chocolate Month'' or ''The Month When Everyone Gets Fat Because Of Eating Too Much Chocolate And Stuff'''. This year I literally got like 5 boxes of chocolate for Christmas and ironically also a gym card... I know that nobody is forcing me to eat all of them, but now, three days after Christmas I noticed that I've already ate two of them.

3. Holiday
This Autumn was definitely the toughest one I've ever went through so when the Christmas Holiday started all I wanted to do was just sleep Like seriously, why can't humans hibernate? I feel like this was the first time when I actually needed holiday.

4. Netflix
The cruel fact is that no matter how much I've needed this holiday, at some point I'm obviously going to get bored. Luckily our family has a Netflix. (I recommend people to watch Bones and How I Met Your Mother (;  )

5. Welcome Home, son by Radical Face

Do I have to say anything? Yes, this is the song from Nikon commercial.

Christmas with me: 5 easy DIY presents that everyone likes to receive

This is the first part of my Christmas series! You might be wondering why I start my Christmas series now, 'cause it's still November. My reason is simple: I love Christmas and everything that is slightly related to it!

Let's be honest. We all know that there's two kinds of DIY presents: the ones that look like they were made by your 5-year-old cousin and the awesome ones. I, personally, like making and giving DIY gifts for Christmas and every year I have this same struggle: Will my presents be the wanted or disliked ones. This year I've overcame this problem by thinking what kind of DIY gifts I would like to receive.

1. Candles in teacups

Miss Renaissance

This is one of my personal DIY gift favourites, I mean, tea cups are cute and who doesn't love candles! I actually made them for last Christmas and they were top hit. From here you can find super good instructions.

2. Cookies in a jar

Double Chocolate Toffee Cookies in a Jar

I don't know about you, but I ALWAYS got super bored the day or two after Christmas, when I've usually red all the books I got. A jar like this would be the perfect solution! To make similar jar that is in the picture, check out this link. (If you want to be kinda lazy ,a.k.a. me, just use some cookie recipe with ''mix dry ingredients, add water/milk/eggs/something and bake'', leave the liquid part out and layer all the dry ingredients in a jar.)

3. Hot chocolate spoons

12 Handmade Gift Ideas Everyone Will Love - Homemade Hot Chocolate Spoons

This is one of the easiest DIY gifts: All you need to do is melt some chocolate. You can also make it special by adding something like marshmallows or sprinkles.

4. Chocolate pretzels
Christmas Chocolate Covered Pretzels
This is as easy as the hot chocolate spoons with almost same ingredients. The mix of salty and sweet never gets old! If you want to go extreme try making these S'mores pretzels.

5. Sharpie mugs

With Sharpies you can fabulize your old mugs and give them a new look. It's also easiest way to make personalized gifts.

How to sleep 10 more minutes and still not look like a swamp monster

This week I've had my Autumn break, which means that on Monday I have to return to reality. Since I haven't slept that much during this break the Monday morning is going to be tough one. Luckily on my exam week I invented this more or less genius technique to manage mornings like this and it's called...

How to sleep 10 more minutes without looking like some kind of hobo

1. This technique's most important part is preparing: always have a clean pair of leggings and a big sweater or some kind of other outfit that is comfortable and kinda good looking.
2. Wash your face with super cold water: it makes you look more fresher and awake.
3. If your hair is dirty use dry shampoo. Leave it applied on your hair for a while, then ''rub'' it little bit and brush off. Ponytails and braids are also super handy. (Actually the best way is to apply it before you go to sleep but we don't always know when we're going to need more sleep, huh?)
(4. Do a super quick base with concealer and cover stick)
5. Curl your lashes and apply mascara, it enlarges your eyes.

I hope that some of you find this at least a little helpful. I can't even say how many mornings- or days actually- this technique has saved.

Looking for happier life

As I've been saying in my latest posts: the Autumn is here. But now the best part is over. Trees are mostly leafless,it's TOO cold and TOO dark outside and there's not snow. All I really want to do is to curl up in my bed and sleep through the rest of this Autumn. Today I decided to finally do something for my unhappiness: I started the 100 happy days challenge!
I bet that most of you have tried or at least heard of 100 happy days challenge. The basic idea is to every day submit a picture of a thing/things that have made you happy that day and do that for 100 days. And if you succeed you can receive a book with your pictures after a challenge. Anyway, the main thing is to become happier by noticing all good things around you and I most certainly need something like that.
I'm going to post my #100happydays pictures on my instagram. If you want to see all of the pictures be sure to follow @ainothefab (;

My first #100happydays picture :)) I'm super exited!

The 1st comeback and what I've been up to?

All bloggers have their own set of firsts: first award, first post with over 100 views and so on. In last four weeks I have achieved two firsts that I can add to my own list: The first time I abandoned my blog for almost a month and by making this post; the first comeback.
Firstly, I should probably apologize the fact that it's been almost a month since I published my last post. I've been super busy with this all new school stuff I've had to do. I had my very first exam week and after that I was so exhausted that all I wanted to do was sleep, sleep and sleep and maybe drink several cups of coffee.

With this photo I'm trying to proof that I was actually studying a little

During the exam week I learned a couple useful skills like ''How to sleep 10 extra minutes and still not look like a swamp monster'' and ''How to make up a huge amount of other stuff you should do instead of studying'' I think that both of these skills deserve their own posts so I'm going to leave these subjects for the future (;
After exam week I obviously needed recovering so me and my friend had a recovery sleepover: Lots of food, netflix and youtube

The day after last exam I ate these super delicious breakfast waffles

Now the second period has begun and I've started stressing about unimportant stuff again, but luckily we have weekends! Thanks to my new ''How to make up a huge amount of stuff to do instead of studying'' skill and the Autumn I've taken lots of autumn themed photos and I thought it would make a great ending for this post to show some of them for you.

What to do in the first weekend of Autumn

Now the September is here and it's officially Autumn. I'm usually super excited about the Autumn, but now, for some reason, I'm feeling a little bit sad and I really had to remind myself why to love the Autumn. To make it easier for myself I made a plan for this weekend: do all the Autumn stuff you love!

In my to do list for this weekend is...
  • Listen to the new music
  • Read a book you used to love when you were 10
  • Start planning Christmas, it's only 110 days away
  • Spice your morning coffee with cinnamon, ginger and cardamom
  • Wear your favourite overknee socks
  • Go and buy a new pair of overknee socks
  • Call a friend you haven't talked to in ages
  • Burn some candles
  • Sing <3
  • Bake a carrot cake
What do you love in the Autumn?

Testing DIY Beauty Treatments part 2: Face

Some time ago I made post about testing DIY beauty treatments. In the title of this post it said part 1, so you might be wondering where's the second part. Now, finally, after a month I made myself to do this post what I should have done weeks ago.I mean, how hard it could be to remember to pamper yourself...
In this post I'm going to review a calming cucumber-yogurt facial mask and a facial scrub made of coffee grounds.

Cucumber-Yogurt facial mask

Ingredients

1/4 of peeled cucumber
2 tbsp of yogurt

Mix all the ingredients in blender until the mixture is completely liquid. Apply on your face for few minutes. Rinse off with warm water.

Did it work? At first I have to say that in my opinion this stuff is too liquid to be a facial mask and if you try this you should probably use cotton pads for applying it- but yeah, it worked. My face gets all shiny and red very often, but this made almost all the redness fade and my always-so-puffy eyes got better.

Coffee scrub

Ingredients

2 tbsp of coffee grounds
2 tbsp of olive oil
2 tbsp of milk

Mix all the ingredients, apply on your face and scrub. Rinse off with warm water.

Did it work? Yeah, and as the lip scrub from my earlier post did, this will also work as a great hand/body scrub too.

My Back to school wishlist

Back to school season is here and all the shops are full of school stuff and fall clothes. I've already done my school supplies shopping so now it's a perfect time to start looking for fall jackets, boots and other fall(ish) clothes!
After some online window shopping I  fell in love with these products:

This Peter Pan collar top from Forever 21

This _adorable_ knotted elephant T-shirt, also from forever 21. Some of you may have seen my instagram pic where I wear my favorite shorts, which have the elephant pattern <3

And what would be the fall without the new dress(es)? I'm a huge fan of skater dresses and paisley pattern so this one just caught my attention immediately when I was scrolling down the page. This cutie is  ASOS's Skater Dress in Paisley Burnout.

I think I really don't have to explain why I need these whale tights. I mean, look at them!

These buffalo boots are just perfect for fall, because at some point of fall I'm feeling a little depressed, sad and tired, but whenever I'm wearing shoes with even a little heel I feel hundred times better. And the best part is that because of the short shank these aren't going to cover the whale tights that I'm totally going to buy!

The last (but not least) product is this little oversized sweater with back buttoning. This would be perfect for running late mornings! Which happens to me too often...

I hope you all have a rainy (I love rain) fall!

How to make... A layered latte

Few days ago I learned how to make a layered latte and I'm super excited about it! This latte makes you look like a professional barista but it's actually super easy to make with just a few very simple steps.

To make a layered latte you need...
-coffee
-milk
-cool see-through glass
-bottle or some kind of milk frother
-teaspoon
-brown sugar

First, make some coffee. Normal coffee is ok.
Measure the amount of milk with the glass you're going to use and heat the milk for a while.
Froth the milk (not for so long time) and pour the foam into a glass. Remember to leave some space for the coffee.

Place the spoon carefully on the milk foam and pour the coffee carefully via the spoon. This is the part where magic happens, because if you've done everything right, you will see how the coffee ''floats'' in between of the milk foam and the liquiq milk.

After the layering part decorate with brown sugar and serve!

Back to School: what's in my school bag/ mini haul

I might be super weird but I really like returning back to school. Not really because of the school but because of the back to school shopping and friends!
I have to be honest with you guys: I actually returned to school four days ago and instead of actually returning back I started my school year in absolutely new high school! In Finland the school system is kinda different including the fact that you don't have to buy your school stuff until you go to the high school in age of 16. Because of that this was the first year when I really had to buy all the stuff by myself. Inspired by all (very few) stuff I bought I decided to make a back to school post: What's in my school bag+mini haul!

So this bad boy here is my backpack: Red and white Fjällraven Kånken. It's not new but it's super practical and cute!

This is everything that is in my backpack on a typical schoolday. Usually there's also my mini laptop but I forgot to put it into this picture :d

These are my school books. On this period I study Finnish, English, Swedish, biology and math. I also have a couple IT, PE and student counseling classes.

These are my notebooks and folder. In the bigger notebook there's five sections for five different subjects. At first it was just a huge black notebook but I decorated it with these mustaches.

This is my calculator. I'm studying higher level math so we need this super big and complicated calculator. I really don't know (yet) how to use it so I'm keeping the instructions with me all the time.

This is my mini laptop and I absolutely love it! It's so little and cute! It's basicly my life, because all my pictures and short stories are in this little baby.

This is all the stuff you found in my pencil case. There are my favorite stabilos, some highlighters, mini stapler, scissors, tape, glue.... My favorite parts of this mess are Paper Mate's neon colored non-stop pencils. They are super easy and comfy to write with and colors are just a huge plus.

I hope you all have an awesome school year!

My July favorites

Lately I've been wondering how to tell you about my June and important stuff I've loved. And if you have been reading my earlier posts you probably know that I love making lists about everything. So what could be a better way to express myself than making a list about five things I loved in the July!

1.Copenhagen
As I have told you I visited Copenhagen in the beginning of the July and I absolutely loved it! The atmosphere was just something I want everyone of you to experience.

2.Weather
So here in Finland it has been really hot (and mostly sunny) for a last few weeks and I've tanned more than ever.

3.Refreshing summer drinks
In this June I've tried several summer drink recipes with my friend (for example the chocolate-caramel frappucino, several kinds of smoothies and the Indian lassi) and they have made my day every time.

4.The Body Shop's Strawberry body polish
In short: I'm addicted. It smells like a pure heaven combined with some tears of an angel

5.Hungary
In the end of the July our choir made a trip to Hungary and I think everyone experienced something they will remember for the rest of their lives.

I hope you had as fun July as I did!

How I take care of my skin

I'm a owner of a mixed/sensitive skin with acne and for last few years taking care of my skin has been quite hard. Now, few antibiotics later my skin is in better condition but I still have to work for it with this easy, five part skin care routine:

1. Cleansing
I wash my face twice a day:  In mornings just with warm water and in evenings with some kind of facial soap (Now I use Neutrogena's visibly clear 2 in 1 wash and mask)

2. Moisturizing
To moisturize my skin I usually use unscented lotions. If my skin gets dry I might also use The Body Shop's Pink Grapefruit beautifying oil.

3. Scrubbing
I scrub my skin once a week and I use this Body Shop's Body Polisher or Body Shop's Strawberry Body Scrub.

4. The Sauna
This is my favorite part of my skin care routine. The sauna makes skin feel softer and it enhances the affect of facial masks and scrubbing. I also sleep better after sauna which is a HUGE plus.

5. Makeup-free days
I have makeup-free days whenever it's possible, at least once a week. On makeup- free day I usually pamper my skin with facial masks and scrubs.

For my last words in this post I want to say: The people with acne, a dermatologist is totally worth spending! The healing process isn't always that quick and easy but a proper medication will make it better!

Must haves from Asos

Today I was spending time on ASOS but this time I decided to search products that cost under 50$ so I could even think about buying them. Honestly I didn't expect that I could even find something nice looking but surprise, surprise: At the end of my search I almost couldn't decide which products I should review.
As some of you maybe know I love doing lists My room isn't always organized but I probably have a list about different ways to organize my room. so my natural way of showing off these product was making three top 3 lists.

I absolutely love short dresses, they make me feel like the girliest girl

The dress number one is called Glamorous Swing Shirt Dress with Empire Seam . It used to cost $47.64 but because of the sales it's now only $32.39
The dress number two is Vero Moda's Anchor Print Dress. It also used to be $47.64 but the lovely sales made it drop down all the way to the $32,39
The dress number three is ASOS' Skater Dress in Bird and Heart Print and I just love it. I would do almost anything to get it into my closet right now! One of the best parts of this dress is its price which is after all the sales only $16.20!

Then we'll move to the shoes!
The first pair of shoes is Monki's Exclusive Bella Eye Flat Slipper Shoes. I love using heels but sometimes you just need to go flat. The eye details of these shoes are also super cute and the price isn't that bad at all: $38.11
The second pair is New Look's Present Black Bow Barely There Heeled Sandals. These are the ones that I really need. These are like the little black dress in a heel form. The price of these shoes is $38.09
The third pair is New Look's Darcy Low Flat Chelsea Boots, my this fall's must-to-have shoes. They cost $47.66

The first bag (ASOS Square Clutch Bag with Zip Top). is the bag I've been looking for forever. The great thing about it is that you can wear almost anything with it and it still looks adorable. The price is $28.58
The second bag (ASOS Covered Barrel Lock Cross Body Bag) is something that I would wear with black dress and red pumps. It costs $41.92
The third and the last bag is New Look's Mini Wendy Bag. It's so cute. I can't describe it better. It just is. ($30.47)

You know the feeling when it starts raining outside and suddenly all you want to do is to have sunbaths or go jogging or just do something that requires a sunny day.For that kind of days I decided to make a list of stuff what you can do when the weather is not that good at all.

1. Clean your room. (Yup, I'm serious. It's less horrible to clean your room when the weather is awful too.)

2. Have a Netflix-marathon with a clear conscience

3. Make a manicure for yourself

4. Make a To do-list for a next week

5. Do online window-shopping

6. Read you favorite book from childhood

7. Organize anything you own

8. Give your skin a rest and spend a makeupless day

9. Try a new recipe

10. Do all the stuff you should have done ages ago, but you haven't had time for

So this was basicly my program on every rainy day ever. Tell me what you do on rainy days and leave a comment down below- and oh, if I some day reach let's say 20 blogger followers I'll do a giveaway (;

Testing DIY Beauty Treatments part 1:Teeth and lips

Lastly on Pinterest I've been pinning all kinds of DIY projects and beauty treatments I would like to try but I never have a time for them. Now when I'm on my summer vacation decided to grasp the nettle and start a new ''Testing DIY Beauty Treatments''-serie, which is actually my excuse for pampering myself. The treatments I choose and chose are going to be very simple and the ingredients should be found in everyone's kitchen.
In this first part I tested two recipes: Lip scrub made of brown sugar, olive oil and honey and a teeth whitener made of baking soda and lemon juice.

Lip scrub

Ingredients:
2 tsp of honey
2 tsp of olive oil
2 tsp of brown sugar

Mix all the ingredients, apply on your lips and scrub gently. Rinse off with warm water.

Did it work? Yes I think. After scrubbing my lips were as soft as I expected. With this recipe you got too much scrub just for your lips but it works great as a hand scrub too.

Teeth whitener

Ingredients:
1 tsp of baking soda
lemon juice

Mix baking soda and lemon juice into a paste. Brush the paste onto your teeth with a toothbrush, then leave it there for a minute, then brush off.

Did it work? I didn't notice any big changes. Maybe I should do this once in a week and then compare results after a month or two.

If you have some good DIY beauty treatment recipes please let me know and leave a comment down below.

Room Makeover part 1

Few days ago my mother and I thought that it was time to give my room a new look. My (old) room is/was kinda small, colorless, boring and full of stuff which makes it look like a messy little boys room. Its walls are something between white and pure boringness so my mom and I thought that our makeover will include at least painting them.
During the planning our little makeover slowly turned into a middle sized room renovation that will include changing my little attic into a walk in closet!
So, yesterday was the first day of makeover-and it started with cleaning. As I mentioned earlier my room is full of stuff so I decided to throw everything broken (that I HONESTLY will never fix) away and the clothes and stuff I don't use are going to charity. The reason why I had so much stuff is that for me it's so hard to throw anything away (There's a little voice in my head saying ''You don't need that anymore, you haven't use it even once in this year.'' but then there's that other larger voice yelling over the smaller one and telling me to keep the thing I was about to throw away because I love my stuff, even if it's old and broken.) so yesterday there was a lot of feelings in the air. Result of this part of makeover is that I gave/threw away 2/3 of my stuff and my room is totally empty with only a few boxes. It's also going to be like that for a while, because the main part of the renovation is going to happen in the change of July and August when I'm in Hungary.
I just can't wait!

My worst and weirdest habits/features

I know and you know that everyone does some stuff that's weird/they aren't very proud about but I think my own features and habits are the weirdest ones. So, to make you happy or something like that I made a list for you:

A list of my worst and weirdest habits/features

      1. I absolutely can't keep my room clean
OK, so first I let you know that I love organizing stuff, but that stuff just isn't my room. It's surprisingly hard to remember put books in bookcase or take the coffee cups in the dishwasher.

      2. I eat when I'm sad (OR happy OR tired OR bored OR...)

I blame my grandmother for teaching me because every time I'm sad (OR happy OR tired OR bored) she offers me food, so who's saying you can't do it all by yourself?

      3. I bite my nails (yuck)
This is my grossest habit, but I have done it all my life. I use nail polish to prevent it but few moments later I forget...

      4. I don't let other people speak
I hate awkward silence so I do my everything to prevent it- and by doing my everything I mean speaking, a lot.

     5. I can't get stuff finished
I adore doing all different kinds of little projects but at some point I lose my inspiration and get bored. My room is like a cemetery of unfinished diy projects.

     6. I LOVE smelling stuff
I can't even explain this. I just love it and I do it all the time.

     7. When I'm angry I rip the paper
And I have an own jar for the pieces of paper I have ripped.

     8. I'm addicted to coffee
This is a really cliché bad habit but I just can't wake up without a cup of coffee.

     9. I really hate milk
This is probably my weirdest feature. The milk doesn't bother me when i drink hot chocolate and I always drink my coffee with milk, but if somebody offers me a glass of milk, just milk without anything in it it just turns into the grossest thing I can imagine.

So these were my worst habits and features. I want to know if somebody shares a same habit/feature with me so if you do, leave a comment and let me know.

5+1 things and places to experience in Copenhagen

Few days ago I visited Copenhagen with my family. I absolutely fell in love with Copenhagen and I wanted to share my favorite parts with you so here you have: 5+1 things and places to experience in Copenhagen!

1. Sightseeing bus tours
I never thought I was going to say that but in Copenhagen these tours work really well. They are a great way to explore the city without getting lost. We went to the ''Mermaid Tour'' which had 16 stops including the Little Mermaid and Nyhavn. We also went to the Carlsberg Tour which was little short with only six stops.

2.Nyhavn
Nyhavn is a very cute waterfront district with a lot of small and colorful houses. In Nyhavn there's a lot of little restaurants and cafes. (My personal favorite cafe was Rajissimo where you can buy delicious waffles, churros and ice cream)

3. Canal tours
In Copenhagen there's also sightseeing tours by canal boats, which are also a great way to see city-from a different angle.

4. Tivoli
Copenhagen's Tivoli is something that everyone has to see. In the evening the lights are spectacular and I wanted to take pictures all the time. And for my budget the best part were the prices of the tickets!

5. Strøget
Strøget is the longest pedestrian street in whole world and it's completely full of all kinds of shops. If you get tired of shopping there's also a lot of cafes and restaurants where you can rest your feet.

+1 Joe and The Juice
Joe and The Juice is an awesome juice bar with a huge amount of different kinds of juices. For coffee addicts there's also some basic kind of coffee and worth a try ginger latte.

I hope you enjoyed this post and maybe find it helpful in some way!
