Christmas with me: 5 easy DIY presents that everyone likes to receive

This is the first part of my Christmas series! You might be wondering why I start my Christmas series now, 'cause it's still November. My reason is simple: I love Christmas and everything that is slightly related to it!

Let's be honest. We all know that there's two kinds of DIY presents: the ones that look like they were made by your 5-year-old cousin and the awesome ones. I, personally, like making and giving DIY gifts for Christmas and every year I have this same struggle: Will my presents be the wanted or disliked ones. This year I've overcame this problem by thinking what kind of DIY gifts I would like to receive.

1. Candles in teacups

Miss Renaissance

This is one of my personal DIY gift favourites, I mean, tea cups are cute and who doesn't love candles! I actually made them for last Christmas and they were top hit. From here you can find super good instructions.

2. Cookies in a jar

Double Chocolate Toffee Cookies in a Jar

I don't know about you, but I ALWAYS got super bored the day or two after Christmas, when I've usually red all the books I got. A jar like this would be the perfect solution! To make similar jar that is in the picture, check out this link. (If you want to be kinda lazy ,a.k.a. me, just use some cookie recipe with ''mix dry ingredients, add water/milk/eggs/something and bake'', leave the liquid part out and layer all the dry ingredients in a jar.)

3. Hot chocolate spoons

12 Handmade Gift Ideas Everyone Will Love - Homemade Hot Chocolate Spoons

This is one of the easiest DIY gifts: All you need to do is melt some chocolate. You can also make it special by adding something like marshmallows or sprinkles.

4. Chocolate pretzels
Christmas Chocolate Covered Pretzels
This is as easy as the hot chocolate spoons with almost same ingredients. The mix of salty and sweet never gets old! If you want to go extreme try making these S'mores pretzels.

5. Sharpie mugs

With Sharpies you can fabulize your old mugs and give them a new look. It's also easiest way to make personalized gifts.

Testing DIY Beauty Treatments part 2: Face

Some time ago I made post about testing DIY beauty treatments. In the title of this post it said part 1, so you might be wondering where's the second part. Now, finally, after a month I made myself to do this post what I should have done weeks ago.I mean, how hard it could be to remember to pamper yourself...
In this post I'm going to review a calming cucumber-yogurt facial mask and a facial scrub made of coffee grounds.

Cucumber-Yogurt facial mask

Ingredients

1/4 of peeled cucumber
2 tbsp of yogurt

Mix all the ingredients in blender until the mixture is completely liquid. Apply on your face for few minutes. Rinse off with warm water.

Did it work? At first I have to say that in my opinion this stuff is too liquid to be a facial mask and if you try this you should probably use cotton pads for applying it- but yeah, it worked. My face gets all shiny and red very often, but this made almost all the redness fade and my always-so-puffy eyes got better.

Coffee scrub

Ingredients

2 tbsp of coffee grounds
2 tbsp of olive oil
2 tbsp of milk

Mix all the ingredients, apply on your face and scrub. Rinse off with warm water.

Did it work? Yeah, and as the lip scrub from my earlier post did, this will also work as a great hand/body scrub too.

How to make... A layered latte

Few days ago I learned how to make a layered latte and I'm super excited about it! This latte makes you look like a professional barista but it's actually super easy to make with just a few very simple steps.

To make a layered latte you need...
-coffee
-milk
-cool see-through glass
-bottle or some kind of milk frother
-teaspoon
-brown sugar

First, make some coffee. Normal coffee is ok.
Measure the amount of milk with the glass you're going to use and heat the milk for a while.
Froth the milk (not for so long time) and pour the foam into a glass. Remember to leave some space for the coffee.

Place the spoon carefully on the milk foam and pour the coffee carefully via the spoon. This is the part where magic happens, because if you've done everything right, you will see how the coffee ''floats'' in between of the milk foam and the liquiq milk.

After the layering part decorate with brown sugar and serve!

Testing DIY Beauty Treatments part 1:Teeth and lips

Lastly on Pinterest I've been pinning all kinds of DIY projects and beauty treatments I would like to try but I never have a time for them. Now when I'm on my summer vacation decided to grasp the nettle and start a new ''Testing DIY Beauty Treatments''-serie, which is actually my excuse for pampering myself. The treatments I choose and chose are going to be very simple and the ingredients should be found in everyone's kitchen.
In this first part I tested two recipes: Lip scrub made of brown sugar, olive oil and honey and a teeth whitener made of baking soda and lemon juice.

Lip scrub

Ingredients:
2 tsp of honey
2 tsp of olive oil
2 tsp of brown sugar

Mix all the ingredients, apply on your lips and scrub gently. Rinse off with warm water.

Did it work? Yes I think. After scrubbing my lips were as soft as I expected. With this recipe you got too much scrub just for your lips but it works great as a hand scrub too.

Teeth whitener

Ingredients:
1 tsp of baking soda
lemon juice

Mix baking soda and lemon juice into a paste. Brush the paste onto your teeth with a toothbrush, then leave it there for a minute, then brush off.

Did it work? I didn't notice any big changes. Maybe I should do this once in a week and then compare results after a month or two.

If you have some good DIY beauty treatment recipes please let me know and leave a comment down below.
